Wk 3, Day 1 P90X Chest & Back

Okay, today was a bit different for me. I was bummed out during this exercise. It could be due to the fact that I hadn't eaten for 6 hours prior to working out...which I KNOW is a no-no! And because my frame of mind was altered, I was ticked off that I still can't do regular pushups. I tried, don't get me wrong...I TRIED, and it just bugged me more. So, I resorted to my knee pushups but at least I managed to go lower than last time, which still works things out for me really well. I want it now...and that's not realistic. At the end of the workout, Tony talks about not beating yourself up if we can't do what they can, that Rome wasn't built in a day....yeah....I know I have a LOT of work to do, and I WILL do it. Note to self...EAT!

Off to get a recovery drink!

Very brave to even attempt that workout on an empty stomach. I haveactually thrown up for that DVD. Do not get yourself down with the push ups. They will come with time. Keep doing them even on days when you don't have to. Try some chair dips, work on those triceps. They are one of the main muscles in that exercise. Next time eat. Easy day tomorrow. LOL Just think you have Plyo. Power through it and remember:
The only easy day was yesterday!!

C-YA tomorrow

The way you feel about push ups is the same way I feel about pull ups. I can't do very many at all, so I do most of them with a chair. I still try to make myself work hard for it instead of just going through the motions. I figure its better to do 80-100 assisted than it is to do just 5 on my own.

Don't get down on yourself because you have to use your knees to assist you, look at it as an opportunity to use the strictest of form and to focus on the muscles as they work. You'll be droppin and giving 20 in no time :)

Best of luck!

Thanks guys. I know that in time I'll be able to do standard ones. In time, and with weight loss.

I got a pull-up bar that swings down for beginners, and I put my feet on either side of the door, and lean back and pull myself up to the bar. I know it's not the same as they're doing, but it's still working the muscles, and when I lose weight, I'll be able to do those regular ones too.

Patience, time and consistency is the key here for me...and eating regularily. That was just dumb of me. Today is a new day!
